Q: So, Jibby ~ How long have you been making music?

A: It all began when I was in third grade music class. We all got a recorder to bring home and play hot cross buns. Naturally, I exceeded the skill level to play it, so they said that I could play along on the triangle. I was a natural, and began scoring out my own triangular tunes. It was impressive, so I started playing gigs on the fireplace for my family. Soon I went on to tour in hot spots like the kitchen and realized that if you turn the shower on really hot it would steam up and look like a fog machine. Everyone knew who I was by sixth grade. They called me the “triangular ass mangler”, which related to the infectious rhythms and popularity that my beats were achieving. There is no instrument that women can deny less than the triangle…they crave it like white castle hamburgers. I eventually gave up triangle for my Dell XPS 600 with dual-core Pentium D technology, which I originally had purchased for its amazing gaming capabilities, but later found it could be my next instrument in making women love me.

Q: Who is your greatest hero?

A: Definitely it has to be David Hasselhoff. Like myself, Hasselhoff has 2 great talents; playing wonderful music and being a chick magnet. His album “Looking for Freedom,” really inspired me to look deep into myself about who I really was and what the triangle really meant to me. I grew as Hasselhoff grew…when Hasselhoff cried as he sang “Ich bin steif”, which interprets as “I am stiff” on the top of the Berlin Wall, I cried too. I spawned a lot of my ideas off of his creative genius. I remember laying in my bedroom and looking at the poster of him where he posed naked with the puppies and getting the idea for my song, “Hasselhoff, why can’t you be my father?”. This later got lost in my closet and never really got much exposure. His charm got him ladies, and I knew if I could be charming I would get the ladies too. Hasselhoff also had a small acting career, which never really took off like his music career did, but I did catch him in movies like “Shaka Zulu” and “Baywatch Hawaiian Wedding”.

Q: What are you musical influences?

A: Besides Mr. Hasselhoff? I tell you, the music to Street Fighter 2 when you play as Ryu was one of the main reasons that I started thinking about other instruments besides just the triangle. The first time I heard that song I cried for a week. I know that I could have taken the triangle and gone to fame and fortune, but I wanted something more; I wanted to be challenged. There was just something in the triangle that I just felt kind of limited with. I know I must sound crazy, but I knew there was more to myself as a musician than what the triangle could afford to me and I wouldn’t be able to evolve if I were to stay with just that. Who knows what could have happened if I stayed with the triangle, but I’m much happier with where I’m at now. Lyrically, I just talk about the issues that kids are dealing with these days. I soak in and absorb the intense world that I see around me. I want to make an impact and not just be fluff like any other pop artist…except for Kelly Clarkson cuz she is awesome.

Q: If you could have dinner with 3 people, who would they be?

A: Can they be animated?

Q: No.

A: I would want to eat pizza and play some video games with THE blond bombchelle., jayla, and W.H.i.T.N.e.Y. from myspace.com…they’re all really hot chicks and for some reason myspace.com keeps accidentally deleting my emails cuz they never respond.

Q: Does your father contribute to your creative process?

A: My dad is the most annoying person, he thinks he is the Kenny G of the miniature trumpet. When I used to play the triangle we used to “jam” once in awhile, but I feel that I’ve outgrown his abilities. Once, I left my computer on and found that he recorded a trumpet solo over all my vocals on my track, “Nasty Like a Cheatcode”. I had to redo them and now know to lock my computer when I leave or else he’ll come in and try to do it again. Normally when I write a song I’ll sit in the dark because the darkness takes one of your senses away and makes the other ones stronger. I do that when I brush my teeth and clean my braces too, I close my eyes because then I do a better job.

Q: Does coming from a split home inspire your writing?

A: Most people don’t know, but I am a twin. When my parent’s split up, my mother took my brother and my farther took me. Although my dad is really annoying, I can’t stand my twin and my mother. My twin has a music career as well, but he’ll never match the abilities and sincerity that I put into my music. I tend to talk about bigger issues than my family life though, like the Internet, robots, and video games.
